Clew Bay Heritage Centre

Using a scale model of Westport, our guide will take you on a tour of the town. Hear the story of how Grainne Uaile, the famous Pirate Queen, got her name and how she divorced her second husband.
View the portrait of the beautiful Maud Gonne MacBride and learn of her connection to Westport through her husband, Major John MacBride, his participation in the 1916 Rebellion and his subsequent execution.
